MOTOWN 25; Yesterday, Today, Forever

MOTOWN 25; Yesterday, Today, Forever. The Jacksons & Michael Jackson. March 25, 1983.  Motown 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever was a 1983 television special produced by Suzanne de Passe for Motown Records, to commemorate Motown's twenty-fifth year of experience. About halfway through the special, Michael Jackson reunited with his brothers on stage to perform a medley of some old Jackson 5 songs. His brothers then left the stage, leaving him solo in his sparkling jacket. Michael then addressed the audience briefly, dramatically introducing his solo performance to Billie Jean. Michael grabbed his fedora and struck a pose, and the audience made a standing ovation before he even started to sing. Then he sang and danced to Billie Jean. During a musical interlude, Michael performed the moonwalk for the first time in public and then spun incredibly fast, and the audience erupted in applause. He showcased a level of talent that shocked many people, and the performance was highly...

This Is It

This Is It is a previously unreleased song by Michael Jackson, released as a promotional single for the This Is It documentary and the 15th track to the movie's soundtrack.    The song was co-written and recorded with Paul Anka in 1980 under the title "I Never Heard". The song was intended to be added as an album track on Anka's album, Walk a Fine Line, although ultimately it didn't make the cut. Jackson once took cassettes of songs from Anka without his permission, because of which Paul threatened to sue MJ. When returning the tapes to Paul, he insisted that MJ made his own copy of I Never Heard and re-title the song to This Is It. After Michael's passing in 2009, his brothers found a box with cassettes with a "bare bone" demo of This Is It featuring only piano and vocals. The song got reworked by John McClain and Mervyn Warren with backing vocals done by The Jacksons. Although the song has nothing to do with it, it was used by Sony to promote the ...

Ghost Of Another Lover

"Ghost Of Another Lover" is a unreleased song from the Dangerous album. The song was co-written with Thom Russo and recorded throughout 1990 and 1991. The song was scrapped from the final album, although the title was later re-recorded in April of 2009. CD was found in court documents of Jeffre Phillips' lawsuit. The disc dates back to "April 29 2009" and there's two mixes on it: one with an intro and another without it. Title was also featured on a note with titles of songs he wanted to finish, found in Jackson's house after his passing.  On April 29, 2017, a recording of the song from Brad Sundberg's seminars was leaked online in very low quality, not all the lyrics are understandable. It's been a long time Please, keep me company While I'm waiting at you All day for you, yeah Got the way, right way Got my backpack And I'm waiting at you All day for you And now there's daylight sun Someone's standing there As it all out really w...

She Got It

"She Got It" is an unreleased song from the Dangerous album.  She Got It was written and recorded in 1990 during the Dangerous sessions, but didn't make the cut. Seems like the song is just MJ messing around in the studio. He can be heard constantly laughing and smiling through the recording.    On December 5, 2007, the song leaked online. It was going to be included as the 7th track on Dangerous: Special Edition (Bonus Cuts) although the project got scrapped.  (One) (One) (Is there a clap that's supposed to be in here?) (Cha! Cha!)
